ARTIST BIO
Amy Axmith, a resident of Cambridge, Ontario, began to develop her natural talent at an early age. Born and raised in Toronto, she was influenced during her childhood by her very talented artist Auntie Margaret. Many summers at the cottage and vacations in Florida were spent studying and painting alongside her Aunt which blossomed her love for painting. Creating and learning in high school led to enrollment into a Design Arts program at Georgian Collage where she gained further skills in Architecture and Interior Design. Over the years painting became a need and a passion that could not be ignored which changed some paths and goals along the way. Although dabbles in various mediums, acrylic painting became her preferred choice for its versatility. You will see her love for water and flowers throughout her paintings with a dose of vibrant colour and a hint of realism. The play of sunlight casting its magic is often portrayed through sunsets and sunrises over tempting waters. She will always have a passion to create work that represents nature's beauty that gives a sense of joy and calmness to the viewers' eyes.
